Django Specialist (Remote Welcome)

Kindaba is an early stage start-up based in Edinburgh, fully internationally remote-friendly and on a mission to build the private gathering space for your family online. We're on the search for someone special who considers themselves a Django fan. If you love Django, and know your way around it, can work fast and efficiently, we'd love to hear more!

This post is initially for a one month project with the option of leading to a permanent position.

We're looking for someone who identifies with the following:

  • Strong knowledge and comfort with Python/Django and back-end API best practices, Object-relational mappers, multi-process architecture, databases (PostgresSQL), and RESTful APIs
  • Very comfortable in a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environment
  • You love asking questions and getting to the bottom of issues
  • Knowledgeable about AWS infrastructure
  • Proud of efficient code that maximises performance
  • Understand the challenges of scaling
Nice to have: Knowledge about video and images processing

What you'd be doing?

  • Supporting implementation of a new back-end architecture in Django which interfaces with our React Native front-end.
  • Ongoing improvements to our existing infrastructure focusing on performance and scale
