Junior Software Engineer - Backend

-The Role-
We’re a small team of quick learners who can see the big picture, dive into the weeds of complex technical problems, and take ownership of projects. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help us develop our unique platform as well as help design new ways to improve and expand the platform across multiple mobility services and technologies. The ideal candidate is passionate and eager to learn, as we are a team that thrives on finding challenges, solving hard problems, and having fun.

-Responsibilities-
You’ll get the chance to apply your talents while developing skills in a number of areas:
Construct and maintain robust, scalable Python code using Flask Blueprints
Integrate and develop REST-based APIs and microservices
Help define and shape our backend architecture
Implement robust testing and CI/CD practices
Work closely with our operations team to identify and prioritize the highest-impact product improvements

-Qualifications-
- Proficiency in Python
- Knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience in Javascript
- Strong technical skills. Computer Science or engineering degree, or strong demonstrated prior experience
- Interest in mobility, transportation, and startups
- Can-do attitude. Initiative to solve problems and don’t mind getting your hands dirty.

-Bonus points-
- Experience in web and/or mobile application development
- Familiarity with PaaS and SaaS (AWS, Heroku, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge/interest in machine learning and optimization algorithms
- Understanding of automotive software and electrical architecture

Compensation

• $60K – $75K
• 0.1% – 0.5%
