Python (Django) E-Commerce Developer

Join us as we embark on complete redevelopments of our multiple e-commerce websites both inside and out! Some of them sell a few products with a more traditional cart system, others focus on a single product with a simplified checkout. All connect to a universal system for managing the orders, customer service and enterprise-related functionality, which we’re also revamping. The company has been around for more than a decade and because of the unique nature of the business rules and processes, we can’t really utilize any of the “out of the box” solutions available today. So we’re once again blazing new “custom development trails!”

The websites’ programming layer will be in Python and the Django framework, with the front-end based on Bootstrap with custom designs. While you’ll be working with a front-end designer, you should be versed in HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JS and related technologies. The public websites are not very complex but the cart/checkout systems does utilize BOGO, special discount, and recurring orders functionality, in addition to a Customer Portal for the usual order status, cancellation tasks, etc.

Restrictions

  • Telecommuting is OK
  • Agencies are OK

Requirements

We’re looking for an awesome Python developer who’s very comfortable within the Django framework and has a demonstrated ability for building solidly-performing e-commerce sites. You should have three to five years of experience and be able to share code samples (when allowed) and provide examples of your work. As these sites are all e-commerce-based, you’ll need to be familiar with PCI compliance as it pertains to web development. You’ll be working with a project manager who may contribute to some of the development as needs arise, along with a web designer, SQL DBA, and possibly one other developer. Ideally, you’ll be in the Phoenix, AZ area.

We plan to narrow the field of candidates and will then be able to share additional details of the project with you. This is a contract project and not a full-time position, although if we really like your work, there could be additional development needed after the initial project is completed.

Please provide us with your resume, links to at least two e-commerce websites you’ve built, and code samples that you’re proud of.
