Senior Python Developer at Savannah Group (the UK company)
Savannah Group is looking for a Senior Python Developer to expand its team in order to increase the pace of its development.
Savannah Group is a global executive talent solutions business with its headquarters in London. Founded 20 years ago, it has 70 employees and places senior executives into Fortune 500, FTSE 100, 250, private, public sector, and PE-backed clients. Its clients include Starbucks, Pepsi, Mondelez, Virgin Atlantic, Rolls-Royce, McLaren, Aston Martin, PayPal, Manchester City, Vodafone, 3i, Bridgepoint, and many others.
Goal: Savannah is looking to develop a product for enterprise customers which helps them plan future talent strategies by enabling them to research companies and executives to build lists or pools of relevant talent.
Project stage: They have developed an MVP that uses a novel and unique way of identifying companies to headhunt in, and who might be the relevant person in that organization.
You will work closely with the technology leadership team and help tackle the engineering challenge of reducing the research time by a factor of ten: from 30 days down to 3 days. Moreover, you are going to build beautiful cutting-edge products that will be used by some of the world’s biggest brands. In this way, helping them improve the quality of the senior executives they hire.
Responsibilities:
- Work on the backend to support features or tasks critical to the SaaS release
- Involved in developing Data Scraping/Ingestion tactics and forming APIs
- Using best Regulatory & Compliance practices when handling data
- Support implementation of Third Party Integrations
- Work on critical features such as the development of Talent Pool Data
- Supporting architecture discussions and forming the product for a SaaS release
- Attend all SCRUM meetings and engage with fellow developers and business users
Essential skills and knowledge:
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Python, Flask (Django is a plus)
- MySQL(SQL)/Postgres
- Data Modeling & Architecture
- GCP Infrastructure and Cloud Services (ie. Terraform, App Engine)
- REST APIs including GraphQL
- SaaS packaging and development experience
- Refactoring Principles
- API docs (ie. Swagger)
- Source Code Management (ie. Git) and version control
- Upper-Intermediate+ English
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience developing web applications for the recruitment industry
- Docker, Kubernetes
- GraphQL
- Automation of Infrastructure
- Test-Driven Development practices
- Data Governance best practices
- Understanding of Front End Development languages and skills
