Technical Lead (Python / Django) Contract - 6 months

Responsibilities • Work with Project Management team to understand business requirements and translate these to detailed technical specification, solution design, and product enhancements. • Have the breadth of vision to look across multiple business unit requirements to identify recurring requirements and translate to product features. • Be the intersection of teams across the business. Share product information with other teams to enable them to effectively leverage the latest product capabilities. • Promote best practice in terms of solution design and product usage. • Engage with external development team & other external groups to collaboratively architect solutions. • Maintain and support our deployment, including upgrading live production systems. • Ensuring application and infrastructure requirements, systems interdependencies and integration requirements have been identified, documented and incorporated into the solution design. • Showcase product features, explain how the product delivers on requirements. • Strong project management including estimation, scheduling, milestone tracking, verification, risk management, and project status reporting as it relates to solution architecture.

Requirements

Requirements • Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Computer Systems or Software Engineering or related technical discipline. • 5+ years’ experience demonstrated experience in software architecture, design, implementation, and supporting real-time web applications and Enterprise-grade solutions meeting complex business requirements. • Knowledge and experience of Django and Python programming language. • Familiarity and comfort with Devstack and Vagrant • Expert knowledge of Internet protocols, XML technologies (HTTP, XML, XML Schema, XQuery or XSLT and XPath). • Knowledge of Java Platform and Enterprise APIs and interoperability (WCF, Web API, SOAP, XML & JSON over HTTP, REST). • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure including implementing Azure infrastructure and architecting Azure solutions (Ideally Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert in Cloud Platform and Infrastructure). • Proven experience in scaling applications to large user base • Practical, applied experience and expertise in data architecture, specifically for modern web application architectures, complex cloud network topologies, and security including distributed services built on Azure • Experience with TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks. • Highly proficient database skills, including knowledge of relational database schema design, SQL DML, NoSQL and DDL and programmatic data access using JDBC. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically diagrammatic and documentation skills
