Lead Backend Developer & Team Lead — Python + C++, 20+ years. AI platforms (RAG, LLM), fintech, storage systems.

Summary

Backend developer, architect and team lead with 20+ years of commercial development — from Assembler firmware to AI platforms.

Now Head of Development at AiVi, a SaaS platform for AI assistants: I own the microservice backend (FastAPI, asyncio, NATS, PostgreSQL) and lead the team. I built the RAG pipeline on Qdrant — document parsing, chunking, embeddings, history-aware search — an LLM gateway over GigaChat/OpenAI, billing, and a feature-based clean architecture whose module boundaries are enforced by AST import tests in CI.

A rare dual specialization: Python for async, high-load and AI backends, and C++ for systems code close to the metal — my own web framework on boost::asio/beast, Socket.IO v4 from scratch, firmware within 256 KB of flash.

I take products from idea to production, both as a sole full-cycle developer and leading a team of up to 8. Equally comfortable designing from scratch and rescuing someone else's legacy. English B2, open to full remote or relocation.

Languages:

English, Russian

Favorite Python Packages:

FastAPI, asyncio, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy 2.0 / SQLModel, Alembic, Dishka (DI), FastStream (NATS), qdrant-client + fastembed, httpx, pytest + pytest-asyncio. Dishka and FastStream are the recent favourites — they make message-driven services genuinely testable.

Experience

Head of Development · AiVi
 Sep 2025 — present
Microservice backend of a SaaS platform for AI assistants: RAG, LLM gateway (GigaChat/OpenAI), billing, CRM and
messenger integrations. Architecture and team management.
▸ Feature-Based Clean Architecture with machine-enforced boundaries: AST import tests keep 18 modules
isolated across 6 service clusters — a boundary violation fails CI
▸ RAG pipeline: document parsing (PDF/Word/Excel), chunking, embeddings, vector search (Qdrant); history-aware
search that rewrites the query using dialogue history
▸ Asynchronous service-to-service messaging over a broker (NATS) with guaranteed delivery; migrated the
platform to Keycloak (OIDC); observability and 311 tests of five types
Python · FastAPI · NATS · PostgreSQL · Qdrant · Redis · Keycloak · K8s

Senior Backend Developer · BAUM STORAGE
 Jun 2023 — Aug 2025
High-load services for distributed data-storage systems (SDS).
▸ Built my own C++ web framework (boost::asio + beast): express.js-style middleware and a router with route
params
▸ Implemented the Socket.IO v4 protocol from scratch for notifications — no current ready implementation existed
▸ Inter-service communication over gRPC, hardware-monitoring microservices (disks, network, CPU, SNMP), device
control via RPC
C++ (STL, Boost, SPDK) · gRPC · HTTP · WebSocket · Socket.IO · systemd

Head of Development · Wazzup
 Jan 2022 — May 2023
Mass-messaging system over WhatsApp with billing, tariffs and payments.
▸ Designed the project and core algorithms solo, then coordinated the team
▸ Flexible message builder (text, media, buttons), CSV contact import of any format, delivery via a RabbitMQ
microservice
NestJS · Vue.js · TypeScript · PostgreSQL · Redis · Kafka · Kubernetes

Fullstack Developer · Innervate (EBAC LMS)
 Jun 2021 — Dec 2022
E-learning platform for Brazil and Latin America (a Skillbox analog).
▸ Tutor payout system: flexible tariffs, timeliness bonuses, Excel/PDF reporting on SOLID principles, delivery via a
RabbitMQ microservice
▸ Course builder: lessons composed of varied blocks — video lectures, quizzes, text
▸ Tutor grading of homework (submission, grade, comments) and learning-progress tracking
▸ Fully rewrote the inline subtitle editor on the frontend
NestJS · Vue/Nuxt.js · TypeScript · TypeORM · PostgreSQL · ClickHouse · AWS

Senior Fullstack Developer · Aksata
 Jun 2020 — May 2021
Call-center quality-control system — designed and built solo from scratch, working directly with the client. Multi-
stage operator scoring with appeals and re-evaluation.
Python · Vue.js (Quasar) · TypeScript · MS SQL · Kafka

Lead Developer · KSP EKPA
 Mar 2013 — Jun 2020
Credit cooperative — from cleaning up heavy legacy to a complete API.
▸ Legacy review (DB with no primary keys): refactoring, complex queries by indirect attributes, bringing the system to
a maintainable and reliable state
▸ Complete internal cooperative API: loans, savings, membership, reporting, import/export
▸ Event-driven SMS delivery and an office-management system with request approvals
Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy) · C++ (Qt) · Vue.js · Node.js · MongoDB · Firebird

Lead / Software Engineer · LUKOIL-Inform
 Mar 2008 — Feb 2013
Information systems for oil production, extending the Oil Info System.
▸ Electrical-equipment maintenance planning: power-supply hierarchy, a schedule that accounts for dependent
equipment shutdown during substation repair
▸ Software-update system with DB versioning, equipment accounting, a web report visualizer. Team management,
client work
C++ · C# (WinForms, ASP.NET MVC) · SQL (Oracle, Firebird) · JavaScript · SOAP

Software Engineer · ATS-Convers
 Mar 2005 — Feb 2008
Firmware for UPS remote-control adapters under tight resource limits (Flash < 256 KB): embedded web server,
SNMP agent, telnet. Protocol reverse engineering.
C · Assembler · SNMP · HTML · JavaScript
