Senior Backend Python Developer

We have an opening for a talented and motivated Senior Backend Python Developer with a passion for making great products. The selected candidate will be responsible for building on to the established groundwork with our CTO and Head of Product.
You should understand what makes for a great user experience and how to build simple solutions for complicated problems. You will be working in an Agile team so you need to be able to work well with teams and be able to run a well-oiled Agile team. You should be ready to take up responsibility as this transcends into a leadership role.

Responsibilities
- Design and build the backend code for a scalable SaaS web app architecture
- Build modular pieces of a large web application using REST APIs and Webhooks
- Collaborate with others in an Agile team
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Ready to take up responsibility in a leadership role
Requirements
- Strong background in Python development
- Familiarity with Python web frameworks such as Django
- Solid grasp of RESTful web services, APIs and Webhooks
- Experience in successful implementation of a large scale web application with - a Python web framework
- Experience with NoSQL databases (such as MongoDB)
- Experience with search technology, such as Lucene, Solr, Elasticsearch, Postgres full-text-search
- Familiarity with a Linux development environment with Git, continuous integration and AWS
- Great working attitude
Strong Plus
- Good client-side coding skill such as UI prototyping, JS coding, CSS styling
- Familiar with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.js
- Experience in Fintech or Insurtech
- Understands financial concepts and how insurance works
