Data Engineering Manager

We are expanding our dynamic data engineering team and we are looking for our next Data Engineering Manager who will be responsible for managing the DataOps team, planning projects, and building data pipelines, and leveraging on large volumes of data across sources in a variety of forms. We will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights.

About The Role

You will be transforming businesses all around the world in making better data-driven decisions by:

  • Enhancing data collection and processing procedures and pipelines;
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis;
  • Developing processes, techniques, and tools to analyse and monitor model performance while ensuring data accuracy;
  • Coordinating with various technical/functional teams to implement models and monitor results;
  • Upholding the quality of any Company-related web products and services by testing for and resolving bugs;
  • Set standards for product/process quality and monitor the team’s output;
  • Recruit, mentor and coach the DataOps team;
  • Be responsible for the performance management of the DataOps team; and
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.

Requirements

  • Strong computing, devops or dataops background.
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience in working with cloud technologies such as AWS and GCP
  • Technical experience building, optimising and managing data pipelines
  • At least 3 years of data engineering experience (Kubernetes, Spark, Hadoop, Apache Airflow)
  • At least 1 year in managerial/lead role
