Senior Blockchain Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer who wants to apply what they already know about backend development in the context of the blockchain. Specifically, we recognize that the blockchain space is early, so we're seeking strong backend developers who want to dive headfirst into blockchains, smart contracts, and cryptocurrencies. We’re fine if you want to work remote, but we’d ask that you travel to San Francisco initially to get oriented.

About the role:

1) Learn and implement the latest in blockchain technologies -- like ERC-20, ERC-721, and token-curated registries
2) Write Python and Django code to interface with PostgreSQL, the Ethereum blockchain, and our data warehouse
3) Develop APIs to be consumed by web, mobile, and command line clients
4) Help build the backend for a token-based social network, which combines cryptocurrency with traditional social network actions
5) Get to the cutting edge of blockchain and smart contract technology by working with computer scientists from Stanford and MIT

About you:

1) You should be a strong backend engineer who is already highly skilled with Python/Django/PostgreSQL (or the equivalent)
2) You should know how to optimize an API by profiling response times, optimizing SQL queries, partitioning databases, setting up load balancers, and the like
3) Expertise in a relevant CS area like cryptography, networking, or distributed systems would also be a major plus
4) We recognize that no one besides Satoshi has "10 years of blockchain experience", so there is plenty of room to learn on the job, but any experience with blockchain or smart contract development would also be a plus
