Python Developer

We are looking for people to welcome in our team to engage in technological challenges together. If you can code in Python and you like to have your say in projects since the technical analysis phase, we want to meet you! If the Data Science and Machine Learning world fascinates you, we are even more curious!

We are looking for a person enjoying joining a young, friendly, and relaxed work environment, and being indipendent, but still supported by a whole team. We like people with spirit of initiative, eager to take on new challenges; collaboratives and with good communication skills. You will be part of our technical team, and you will work with the coordination team that deals with the other business areas. Good information management, a flexible mindset and a capability of keeping the Big Picture into view, together with strong problem solving skills, are important qualities for us because we are looking for a person, who, in addition to programming, will actively contribute to the analysis phases to help us to find the right solutions for each project.

At Nephila, you will develop websites and applications backend with Python and Django by actively contributing to the definition of the projects. This means that you will take part to the project from the customer requirements analysis and you will be able to make your point of view count; you will contribute to the definition of technical details and the project stack. Among the projects, you will work on the Django-based digital ecosystem of an important publishing group; you will participate in the development of a distributed Python application for remote control of industrial equipment. With the right skills, you will be part of the creation and definition of the Data Science and Machine Learning business are we are actively developing.

And last but not least, you will have the chance to work on open source projects and contribute to their development.

Your role will also be important to improve the work of the team: you will have the chance to write a lot of documentation, you will do code reviews, you will organize and take part in training activities within the development team, and if necessary you will support junior figures to help them grow. For this reason, we would like to meet people who are curious about new languages and technologies and enthusiastic about exchanging skills.

We have always embraced remote and smart working, and in the last year we have moved to "remote first" approach. You will work remotely, but you will still have an office with available workstations, for daily work or group activities.

Your day will start with a morning standup, to inform the teams of the progress of your work and organise the collaboration where necessary. Morning alignments will be paired with periodic plannings and retrospectives in true Agile style. After the standup, you will have the day to focus on your work; it will also happen to set up occasional meetings with clients and project teams to discuss technical details.

Of course, there will also be hectic times as deadlines and go-lives approach, so good time management is important. There will be plenty of opportunities to chill a bit, to get to know each other, and have some good time with the rest of the team, perhaps at community events that we love to attend.
