Job Description

As a mid-level full stack software developer, reporting to the CTO/Tech lead, you will be working as a member of the Registry Direct delivery team alongside senior/mid level developers, product owners and designers with the common goal of extending and maintaining our existing software platform to deliver a better experience for our customers.

This is a fully remote position, we are open to candidates from anywhere in the world but as we are based in Melbourne Australia we would require at least a 5 hour overlap in working hours with our 9am to 5:30pm AEST work day.

Responsibilities

Supported by the senior developers you will primarily perform the following:

  • Design, code and test new software features
  • Maintain and extend existing software features
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues
  • Code reviews

Some examples of upcoming features you could be a part of:

  • Development of a new customer facing API
  • Integration with the new blockchain based ASX replacement system
  • Oauth2 based integrations with "ecosystem" platforms like Salesforce, Hubspot, Xero
  • A variety of new "productivity" features for customers

Technologies we use

  • Backend: Python 3, Django 3, Django REST Framework, Celery, Odoo, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Frontend: Javascript ES6, React.js, Knockout.js
  • Hosting/Ops: AWS - EC2, RDS, ELB. Jenkins, Puppet, Fabric, Docker, Sentry, New Relic
  • Version control: Git, Github
  • Project management/communication: Jira, Confluence, Slack, Zendesk

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for software developers to join us who have a real passion, energy and enthusiasm for what they do, are friendly, approachable and have good relationship management skills.

  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Tertiary qualification in computer science, information technology or related engineering disciplines
  • 3 to 5 years commercial agile software development experience
  • Commercial experience building complex backend web applications with Python, Django, DRF and Celery
  • Commercial experience building complex frontend web applications with ES6 Javascript and React.js
  • Experience building and consuming APIs
  • Hands-on knowledge in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimisation
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the Fintech industry
