Python / Django Developer with strong DevOps background

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Python/Django developer with a strong background in SysAdmin/DevOps/Nagios to join our Monitoring Service project(s). Our service provides different checks from 30 different locations worldwide.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes.

* Build automation and monitoring tools to proactively prevent and resolve system issues.

* Assist with customer support/live chat as needed for escalated critical support issues.

* Keep track of changes to nagios core/plugins and test new versions in dev environment.

* Resolve bugs and develop new features in the Python & Django codebase.

Requirements:

* Excellent communicator able to clearly communicate with team members and customers alike in an agile environment.

* Strong & independent problem solving ability.

* 5+ years working with Linux-based systems (processes, configuration, networking, security, package management).

* Strong experience with Nagios (configuration, upgrading, plugin management/development).

* Strong experience working with Amazon Web Services (including CLI/SDKs).

* Strong programming experience, especially in Python.

* Experience in designing, deploying and operating highly available load balanced setups.

* Experience with infrastructure automation tools, such as ansible, chef, etc.

* Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins.

* Experience with some of the following required: MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Celery, PostgreSQL, PhantomJS, Nginx.
