Senior Software Engineer

At Glassman Technology Group, we develop SaaS with a strong emphasis on digital transformation and workflow automation. Founded in 2009, GTG has developed long term and strategic relationships with our clients who primarily operate in regional markets outside the United States.

We are looking for experienced people who can work collaboratively to define a problem and then work independently to solve it. We don't expect you to have a background in everything we are looking for, but we do expect you to be highly motivated to apply your experience in creative ways and to have a desire to learning new things.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate possesses skills including the following:

  • Expertise in designing, testing, building, and maintaining REST APIs (Python/Django)
  • Experience in managing, designing, and querying modern relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, Azure SQL)
  • Comfort with Docker, Kubernetes and container-based development
  • Comfort using Linux servers on cloud-based platforms (Azure and some AWS)
  • Comfort with ssh, Ansible, and ALM tools
  • Comfort with Git branching, merging, and pull request based workflows
  • Experience in interacting with or modernizing legacy backend software (in VB.NET, C#, and SQL Server)

In addition, experience with the following is desirable:

  • Developing and maintaining SPA applications in React
  • Working in remote teams (2-3 people)
  • Working productively and autonomously at times
  • Understanding of Agile concepts (Kanban and Scrum)
  • Working with open-source software (Apache Nifi or similar ETL tooling)
  • Working in the health insurance sector with X12 EDI formats (e.g. 837/835)

  • Multiple years of experience developing, testing, and maintaining production-level software
  • Completing projects in a manner responsive to budgets, deadlines, and user requirements
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills (in English)
  • Perform work and attend meetings during standard North American workday hours
  • Ability to be self-managed and meet productivity goals
  • Communicate effectively on status of work and any blockers
