Come lead by example and help evolve and improve our technology and team. Simplelegal has a single git repo and our only high level dependencies are Python and Postgresql, and despite our determination to maintain the spirit of staying 'simple' down to our tech stack, we have a lot of complex and challenging technical problems. We have generally good methodologies (robust CI, code reviews before merging branches, everything is checked in, careful release and branching process, etc) but we are always trying to find ways to be better.
A day in the life of a Senior Engineer would include checking in on other engineers to see if they need advice or assistance, giving feedback on code reviews, attending approximately 2 15 minute standups (only one as a participant, the other to help maintain links between teams in other time zones), attending 1 to 2 hours of other meetings, and interacting with other members of the team throughout the work day on Slack.
Work life balance is good, expectations are clear and communicated, and work proceeds at a regular pace without too many emergencies.

About the Company
SimpleLegal is a legal tech startup, headquartered in Mountain View, that is innovating the way corporate legal teams work. Used by the legal departments at Reddit, Alphabet, GitHub, and over 250 more, we are quickly becoming the SaaS platform of choice for enterprise legal teams. Sales has Salesforce, Legal has SimpleLegal.
Our culture focuses on ownership, transparency, and community. Development is light on process and every developer makes an impact, usually merging code within their first week. We have dedicated frontend engineers, so backend engineers occasionally dip into full-stack, but primarily focus on the backend.
