Full-Stack Engineer
Riskpulse is searching for a Full-Stack (Python / JS) Software Engineer with a passion for building data-driven products. You will be working directly with our diverse team of developers and data scientists to build solutions that power the future of transportation operations and global logistics.
The Full-Stack Software Engineer is an intermediate-level role and reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Commodity investment firms depend on Riskpulse probabilistic forecasts and advisory services to guide their understanding of weather’s impact on supply and demand.
Where will I work?
Riskpulse is a fully distributed team. We span the globe. We have team clusters in Austin, Chicago, and Miami with virtual nodes in San Francisco, San Diego, London, Madison WI, Park City UT, and Albany NY. Our global working environment is the foundation for our robust culture, product, and customer relationships. As a member of our team, you will work in the place that inspires you daily along our quest to transform the complete supply chain. As we grow, you’ll also travel the world visiting our team and our customers.
What will I do?
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer you will working on all aspects of our platform, including but not limited to:
Parsing and processing new data feeds
Working on/with routing engines
Implementing dashboards and new data-driven visualizations
Enhancing our REST APIs
The winning candidate will demonstrate a passion for technology and pragmatic problem-solving. Your key responsibilities include:
Writing high-performance, scalable, and secure Python and Javascript code using
Triaging and resolving technical support issues/bugs
Working with our Customer Success teams to better understand customer problems, product gaps, and provide input into the product roadmap
Code-review changes to product and provide feedback to other engineers
What experience do I need?
An advanced degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or other relevant scientific discipline, or relevant work experience.
Technical experience:
Solid web developer with at least 4+ years of Python and Javascript experience
Flask / Django
Knowledge of Python scientific tools such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, etc...
Your professional or academic history must demonstrate:
A knack for working well with a wide range of people
Loads of initiative and ability to work autonomously
A true team player with a positive attitude, high intuition, and sense of humor
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced startup environment
Strong time management skills, attention to detail and follow-up
Ability to maintain a high level of productivity, manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, complex, collaborative, and team-oriented environment
Bonus points if you also have some history of:
Distributed systems experience with strong knowledge of Linux internals
Javascript experience with Backbone.js and React
Experience with GIS (PostGIS, ESRI, Mapbox)
Big-Data Analytics, Machine learning
Experiencing in visual UI/UX, product design
Consistently over-achieving in past positions
Prior experience in a customer-facing role
Successful track record leading projects and teams
Developing products and software to solve complex problems
Working with SaaS-based products
